Our Production – Quality Through Collaboration

Long-standing Partnerships

Since 1987, LANA women's fashion has been developed in collaboration with experienced production partners in Germany, Portugal, and Turkey.

Many of these partnerships have existed for decades. Regular personal exchange, short decision-making processes, and close cooperation enable us to actively accompany our collections from the initial idea to the finished garment.

A large proportion of our products are manufactured according to the requirements of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Information on the respective certifications can be found on the individual product pages.

Our Production Partners

We deliberately work with a manageable number of specialized partner companies.

Through regular on-site visits and direct exchange with our partners, we personally oversee the development of our collections. This allows us to coordinate materials, workmanship, and fit together and to foster long-term relationships.

Our production facilities and fabric suppliers are predominantly located in Europe as well as in Turkey.

From Idea to Finished Garment

Each collection is created in several coordinated steps.

From the selection of materials to the development of patterns and garment manufacturing, we accompany the entire creation process together with our partner companies.

This includes:

  • Material selection
  • Development of cuts and fits
  • Fabric production
  • Finishing and dyeing
  • Cutting and manufacturing
  • Quality control

Through this close collaboration, we can continuously develop the quality of our collections.

Finishing and Dyeing

Finishing gives a fabric its later properties and influences, among other things, its feel, dimensional stability, and wearing comfort.

Wherever technically possible and appropriate for the respective material, we refrain from additional chemical treatments and instead rely on mechanical or thermal processes and enzymatic treatments.

For many of our GOTS-certified products, there are also clear requirements for finishing and dyeing. These include oxygen-based bleaching processes and dyes that meet the standard's requirements. Chlorine bleaching and numerous optical brighteners are excluded or only conditionally permitted for GOTS-certified products.

The processes used always depend on the respective material and the requirements for the finished garment.

Quality Down to the Last Detail

The quality of a garment does not only emerge during sewing. It begins with the selection of materials and continues through every single processing step.

For over 38 years, LANA has been developing women's fashion from high-quality natural materials such as organic cotton, linen, TENCEL™ Lyocell, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose, and mulesing-free virgin wool.

Our goal is to develop garments that bring long-lasting joy through high-quality materials, careful workmanship, and timeless design.

Transparency

We want to show transparently how our clothing is made.

Therefore, on our product pages, we provide information about:

  • materials used
  • certifications
  • production locations
  • care instructions
  • material composition

This gives you a transparent insight into the creation of our collections.
